Newbury, NH – (March 12, 2007) – Thanks to great snow and an
early daylight savings, Mount Sunapee will be extending the lift
operating hours one hour until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, March 17
and 18. Skiers and riders will enjoy more sun, more runs and more
value. Hours of operation will be from 8am until 5pm, a full nine
hours of skiing and riding.
Skiers and riders who purchase afternoon tickets will be getting
a real value. This season Mount Sunapee increased the afternoon
hours from 12:30pm – 4:00pm to 12:00pm – 4:00pm. With the extra
hour, afternoon ticket purchasers will be able to ski or ride for
five hours from noon until 5pm. New Hampshire residents can ski or
ride Mount Sunapee at a special rate every Sunday afternoon during
non-holiday periods. On Sunday, March 18 residents will be able to
ski or ride from noon until 5pm for only $29.
Mount Sunapee has received 40 inches of snow since mid-February.
The natural snow combined with Mount Sunapee’s snowmaking
commitment has created some of the best March skiing and riding in
years. 50 trails totaling 200 acres of terrain have a 42-54 inch
base of snow, which will easily get Mount Sunapee to its scheduled
closing date of April 8, 2007. 60 trails and slopes are currently
open. Along the way, guests will enjoy barbecuing along Flyway
trail and a string of special spring events including the Dummy Big
Air Contest on March 18, the 9th Annual Slush Cup on March 24 and
the 16th Annual Cardboard Sled Race on April 7.
