MOUNT SUNAPEE OFFERS $29 LEARN-TO-SKI/SNOWBOARD PACKAGE THROUGH DECEMBER 23, 2011

Newbury, NH – (October 7, 2011) –  Mount Sunapee Resort will be offering $29 one-day learn-to-ski/snowboard packages from opening day at the South Peak Learning Area through Friday, December 23, 2011.  This package normally sells for $85. 

The “Get Into Skiing/Snowboarding” package will be available to individuals ages 8 or older for only $29.  Each package includes a two-hour lesson, rental equipment for the day and an all-day lift ticket to the South Peak Learning Area.

“Skiing and snowboarding is something that individuals, friends and family can enjoy for their entire lives,” says Kyle Steinmetz, director of the Learning Center at Mount Sunapee.  “Early season is a great time for beginners, as they don’t need the entire mountain to be open to learn the basics.  Then, they have all winter to enjoy skiing and snowboarding.”

The South Peak Learning Area is one of the best teaching areas in the East.  It features 14 beginner trails and six lifts including three carpet lifts and a slow-moving quad chair.  Carpet lifts are like moving walkways and make it easy for first-time skiers and snowboarders to get up the beginner slope.  South Peak is a totally separate area for beginners, yet can be easily accessed from the main mountain.

The winter Mount Sunapee is an official Burton Learn to Ride Center.  One hundred percent of the snowboard, snowboard boot and binding inventory in the Shop are now Burton.  The Burton LTR™ board for men and the LTR-L™ board for women featuring Easy Rider™ technology have revolutionized learning to snowboard.  These boards have softer flex and the camber has been eliminated and replaced with a convex base shape from tip to tail that makes steering and stopping simple.  The convex base and beveled edges also helps the beginner roll onto an edge making it easier to initiate a turn.
