Newbury, NH - (July, 2010) - Mount Sunapee's primary terrain park, the "603", featuring three trails, its own triple chairlift and the East's only 4,000 watt sound system has a new title sponsor for 2010-2011.  Bob Skinner's Ski & Sport located just off the traffic circle at the entrance to Mount Sunapee will be the title sponsor through the 2012-2013 season.

"We're really excited about this, to the point that it has inspired us to make some very cool changes to the shop to cater to the park riding market," said Frank MacConnell, owner of Bob Skinner's Ski & Sport.

The Bob Skinner's "603" Terrain Park has over 50 features ranging in size from small to extra large. The features are built in progression lines sized for a particular ability level of park rider or skier that increase in size and difficulty as the rider/skier progresses down the slope. New for 2010-2011 will be a staircase and handrail feature also know as a "hubba" in park speak.

Throughout the season in addition to local events there are four signature park events: two rail jams and two slope-style events.  These events draw participants from across New England and offer cash prizes and merchandise. Golf & Ski Warehouse, the event sponsor, provides $500 cash prizes for each of the four signature events.

New in 2009-2010, the Grom-a-thon has emerged as an extremely popular local event.  Held every Sunday from December 26, 2010 through March 27, 2011, the Grom-a-thon is for young riders or skiers with the emphasis on fun. This one-hour jam focuses on one small or medium feature.  The entry fee is only $5 and every participant receives a goody bag.

The Mount Sunapee Park Rider Team is composed of six local skiers and riders. These athletes compete in all four signature park events at Mount Sunapee plus represent Mount Sunapee at other events throughout New England.

In addition to the Bob Skinner's "603" Terrain Park Mount Sunapee offers two other terrain parks.  The Eastside Skier/Boarder Cross Park offers a series of elements built entirely out of snow including a half pipe, jumps, rollers, spines and a quarter pipe. There is a beginner park on Calypso trail in the South Peak Learning Area with small features including a new "butter brick" for 2010-2011.
