Newbury, NH - (December 28, 2006) - Who will be this year’s
Peter Heffrin and represent Mount Sunapee at the Sports Illustrated
for Kids Next Snow Search Finals. Last year, Peter’s style,
personality, attitude and essay convinced the judges that he should
represent Mount Sunapee at the finals in Killington, VT.
Mount Sunapee Resort will host a qualifier for the Next Snow
Search Finals for the fourth consecutive year on Monday, January
15, 2007. This one-of-a-kind, all-mountain, all- person,
all-equipment competition is open to young skiers and riders ages
9-13 years old.
The Next Snow Search is all about finding the next generation of
hot skiers and riders. It’s not enough just to be able to
perform big tricks, however; judges are looking for personality and
attitude as well. Mount Sunapee participants also need to
submit an essay as part of the event. The Next Snow Search is
looking for the next generation of
X Games and Winter Olympic participants who exemplify the values
of our sport.
The qualifier from Mount Sunapee will receive, along with one
parent or guardian, four nights lodging, four days of skiing/riding
and admission to all Next Snow activities and other related events
at the Finals at Killington, Vermont on March 2-4, 2007.
Each participant will need to bring a 100-150 word essay to
registration. This year’s essay topic is: “If I could change
one thing in the world, what would it be and why.” The essay
must be presented at registration to enter the event.
Registration will take place in the Spruce Lodge on Monday,
January 15th between the hours of 8:00 – 9:30am. The event
will begin at 10:00am and take place all over the mountain
including the SoBe Freeride Zone. The entry fee is $10 and
does not include a lift ticket.
