Newbury, NH – (November 20, 2007) – Mount Sunapee Resort will open for the 2007-2008 winter season at 9:00am on Friday, November 23.  The resort will open with more than a mile of top-to-bottom skiing and riding on Upper and Lower Blast Off trails.  Terrain will be available for advanced skiers and snowboarders only.  Snowmaking operations will continue as temperatures permit to open additional terrain.

Ticket prices will be $30 for adults, $25 for young adults and seniors and $20 for juniors and super seniors.  Services will include the Sunapee Lodge food court, the rental shop, snowsports shop, Goosefeathers Pub in Spruce Lodge and the season pass sales.

Mount Sunapee’s 18 new energy efficient snow guns from Snow Economics contributed to Mount Sunapee’s second earliest opening date ever.  These new guns allowed Mount Sunapee to make snow top-to-bottom (7,000 feet of trail) with temperatures in the mid-20’s, which are typical during late November, cutting the snowmaking time in half to get open.

For the second year in a row Mount Sunapee was ranked with the best snow surfaces in the East in the annual SKI Magazine Reader Survey which was published in the October, 2007 issue.  Mount Sunapee was ranked #1 in grooming in the East (#2 in North America) and #2 in snow quality in the East.
