Newbury, NH – (August, 2007) – A number of upscale options will greet guests at Mount Sunapee for the 2007-2008 season including a VIP day lounge, gourmet coffee and made-to-order meals.
The new Hearthstone Room for meetings and functions will be made available to individual guests on weekends and holidays when the room is not rented for a function or to a group. The Hearthstone Room is located just steps from the slopes in Spruce Lodge and features a large fieldstone fireplace and comfortable decor. Parties of two or more can reserve space in this intimate setting, where they can have their own mini-base lodge at the mountain for the day. Space is limited to 30 people. A $30 daily fee (not including lift ticket) includes a light continental breakfast, buffet lunch, après ski appetizers plus a limited cash bar. A host or hostess will staff the room each day. Spend a day on the slopes, enjoy a relaxing lunch and then kick up your feet in front of the fireplace at the end of the day. Availability and reservation information will be posted on the web site.
Skiers and riders will be able to get their day started with a great cup of coffee this season at Mount Sunapee. Coffee bars featuring premier coffee grinds will be located in the Sunapee Lodge and at the Summit Lodge. The coffee bars will also feature espresso, specialty coffee drinks and baked goods.
Back by popular demand will be the Sizzler Station in the food court at Sunapee Lodge. Our chef prepares made-to-order entrees featuring meat, seafood and vegetables. The menu rotates weekly for this showcase cooking venue and features items like Indonesian stir fry, fajitas and sizzling salads.
“Our goal in the culinary department at Mount Sunapee is to expand the scope of the products and services we provide to our guests,” said Travis Smith, director of culinary services, “while a burger and fries are still one of our staples, healthier food choices and presentation are becoming more important to many of our guests. The Hearthstone Room, coffee bars and Sizzler Station address some of these desires very nicely.”
