General Information -
Every year the IZ Style Tour pays us a visit with some great entertainment, ski and snowboard demos, and live music. This year the Pete Kilpatrick Band will be playing.
When you’ve been called “the best kept secret in independent music,” there’s only one thing to do – try and shake loose the label! As one of Maine’s bestselling independent artists, 26-year-old Pete Kilpatrick has been working steadily to do just that. His four independent releases have sold over 30,000 copies to date and his rigorous touring schedule keeps his fans happy.

People have been warming up to the Portland, ME singer-songwriter for several years now as he's forged alone and with an assortment of other musicians. Nominated two years in a row for "Best Singer/Songwriter" at the Boston Music Awards, and earning the title of "Best Act in Maine" in 2006 and 2007, have helped Pete spread his name throughout New England. In the past three years he's shared the stage with artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Guster, Dispatch, and Ray Lamontagne.
“Hope in Our Hearts” is pete's most recent record, released in the fall of 2008 and it features Kilpatrick’s heartfelt, luminous vocals and clever pop writing. The album was produced by Jon Wyman (Ray Lamontagne, Rustic Overtones), and unlike Kilpatrick’s previous efforts that have featured guests like Guster’s Adam Gardner, or Soulive's Ryan Zoidis, this record is a band of five friends playing the music they love.
The songs from the new album still have Kilpatrick’s signature hooks that are hard to mistake or shake from memory as well as another side of sounds from writing with the whole band. The result is something that sounds like it should be in a stack of LP’s underneath Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumors” or lying near Cat Stevens’ “Teaser and the Firecat.” It’s ten songs of hopeful rock music that lends itself to being something of a summer “open roads” record as well as one to watch the leaves fall to.
