Mount Sunapee Special Winter Events

Every year Mount Sunapee hosts a ton of events that are fun for the entire family.  Dates are subject to change however so please call to confirm dates.

December 2009

December 13
MOUNT SUNAPEE “CARES & SHARES”
Ski or ride the entire day for just $30 with a contribution of five non-perishable food items. Benefits local families and food shelters.

December 29
SUGAR ON SNOW CELEBRATION
Sample delicious sugar on snow from Valley View Maple Farm in Springfield, NH.  Other maple products are on sale on the patio at Sunapee Lodge.

December 31
NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION IN GOOSEFEATHERS PUB
Ring in the New Year “Sunapee” style as we dance the night away and enjoy a fireworks display. A delicious family buffet is available in Goosefeathers Pub.

13th ANNUAL NEW ENGLAND WINTER SPORTS CLINIC
FOR DISABLED VETERANS

This event sponsored by NEHSA (New England Handicapped Sports Association) promotes rehabilitation by instructing physically challenged veterans in adaptive alpine snowsports. Veterans from across the country attend this event. Visit nehsa.org.

Features a “Heart Hunt” on the slopes with lots of prizes and other activities.

MOUNTAIN DEW VERTICAL CHALLENGE
A fun, all-day event for the entire family, with a dual slalom race, prizes, giveaways, and après-ski awards party. This is a family party open to all that you won’t want to miss.

February 20 - 21
IZSTYLE WINTER TOUR
This two-day event features the Reverb Eco Village (businesses and products that support a sustainable environment), all natural/organic food sampling, ski & snowboard demos and live music. The Bud Light Concert Series will present a special après ski party Saturday in Goosefeathers Pub featuring a live band.

NEHSA CORPORATE SKI CHALLENGE
Teams compete for the Corporate Challenge Cup as a fundraiser for the New England Handicapped Sports Association. Visit nehsa.org.

4th ANNUAL DUMMY BIG AIR CONTEST SPONSORED BY HARPOON BREWERY
Dummy skiers and snowboarders are launched off a huge ramp. Great spectator event. Prizes awarded for best-designed dummies, biggest air, and best crash.  Awards and après-ski party sponsored by Harpoon Brewery  

March 17
ST. PATRICK’S DAY
Look for shamrocks hidden on the mountain and win prizes. Join us at Goosefeathers Pub for Irish fare.

March 21
MUELLER CUP MOGUL THING
A fun, open event for all ages. It is a dual format, meaning that 2 skiers ski head to head down a course on the Flying Goose, with the skier having the better run continuing on to another round, until there is only one skier left in the men’s and women’s divisions. Those survivors are crowned the mogul king and queen.

March 27
22ND ANNUAL CHIP GILROY T-SHIRT RACE
One of the biggest alpine races of the year in New Hampshire for JIII, JIV, JV, and JVI racers.  Fundraiser for the Chip Gilroy Fund, which supports research, prevention, treatment and cure of childhood cancer at Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

12th ANNUAL SLUSH CUP
It’s Wet & Wild! Join in the fun as participants ski and snowboard across a 90 foot man-made pond. Tons of prizes and entertainment.

April 4
ALL FOOLS’ RAIL JAM
All day rail jam in the Six O' Three.

April 10
19th ANNUAL INTRAGALACTIC CARDBOARD SLED RACE  
The most intricate and professionally designed sleds you will ever see vie for bragging rights in one of Mount Sunapee’s premier events. Join us for the best racing west of Loudon.
